About the event
Tony Davis is a guitarist, composer, and singer songwriter based in New York City. Originally from Hartford, Connecticut, Davis has performed at venues including The Blue Note, Village Vanguard, Birdland, Smalls, and Jazz at Lincoln Center, as well as festivals including the Newport Jazz Festival.
His music combines jazz and blues foundations with influences from Afro Latin music, folk, rock, and contemporary composition. In addition to leading his own projects, Davis has performed with artists including Christian McBride, Sullivan Fortner, George Coleman, Anderson .Paak, and Joe Farnsworth.
This quartet performance features original music and improvisation shaped by Davis’s wide ranging musical influences and contemporary approach to jazz guitar.
