About the event
Slavic Soul Party is a Brooklyn based ensemble known for combining Balkan brass traditions with jazz, funk, Roma music, and global dance rhythms. Formed in Brooklyn, the group has performed extensively throughout the United States and internationally, developing a reputation for energetic live performances and genre crossing arrangements.
Led by musicians deeply connected to both jazz improvisation and Eastern European musical traditions, the ensemble features brass, saxophone, percussion, and rhythm section instrumentation shaped by influences from Serbia, Macedonia, Romania, and contemporary New York music culture.
Their performances combine original compositions and traditional material with improvisation, layered rhythms, and brass driven arrangements that move between concert performance and dance music energy.
This concert will be recorded for future broadcast on WLIW-FM
