About the event

Patrick Cornelius is an alto saxophonist, composer, and bandleader based in New York City. Over more than two decades on the New York jazz scene, he has developed a substantial body of work as both a performer and composer, releasing multiple albums as a leader and collaborating with artists including Gerald Clayton, Kendrick Scott, Miles Okazaki, Jeff Ballard, and Frank Kimbrough.

A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Manhattan School of Music, and The Juilliard School, Cornelius has received numerous honors for composition, including ASCAP Young Composer Awards and Chamber Music America New Jazz Works commissions. His music combines contemporary jazz composition with improvisation, drawing from influences across jazz, classical music, and modern creative music.

This quartet performance features original music shaped by melodic writing, rhythmic interplay, and contemporary ensemble improvisation from one of the leading alto saxophonists and composers working in jazz today.
