Jeff Coffin is a saxophonist, composer, bandleader, and educator known for his work across jazz, fusion, funk, and contemporary improvised music. A longtime member of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones and the Dave Matthews Band, Coffin has performed internationally for decades while leading his own projects and collaborations.

His group, the Mu’tet, is known for combining jazz improvisation with funk rhythms, global musical influences, and exploratory ensemble interaction. The band’s performances move fluidly between structured composition and open improvisation, often blending acoustic and electric textures with rhythmically driven grooves.
