About the event
Edsel Gomez is a Puerto Rican pianist, composer, arranger, and musical director based in New York City. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Gomez has built an international career performing and recording across jazz, Latin jazz, and Brazilian music traditions.
Over the course of his career, he has worked with artists including Dee Dee Bridgewater, Don Byron, Jack DeJohnette, David Sanchez, Conrad Herwig, Eddie Palmieri, and Janis Siegel. Gomez has also contributed to Grammy winning and Grammy nominated recordings as both a pianist and arranger.
His music combines jazz improvisation with Afro Caribbean and Brazilian rhythmic traditions, shaped by decades of international performance and collaboration. This quartet performance features original compositions and contemporary jazz rooted in a wide range of musical influences.
