Cyrus Chestnut is a pianist, composer, and bandleader known for his powerful touch, gospel influence, and strong connection to the jazz tradition. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Chestnut studied at Berklee College of Music and has performed and recorded extensively as both a leader and sideman.

Over the course of his career, he has worked with artists including Betty Carter, Wynton Marsalis, Freddie Hubbard, Dizzy Gillespie, and Terence Blanchard. His playing combines swing, blues, gospel, and bebop influences with a melodic and rhythmic approach to the piano.
