About the event
Sean Mason is a pianist, composer, and arranger from Charlotte, North Carolina, now based in New York City. A graduate of The Juilliard School, Mason has quickly emerged as one of the notable young pianists on today’s jazz scene, performing both as a bandleader and collaborator with artists across jazz and vocal music.
Known for his strong sense of swing, blues rooted phrasing, and rhythmic drive, Mason’s playing draws from jazz tradition while incorporating gospel, stride piano, and contemporary influences. In addition to his work as an instrumentalist, he has collaborated extensively with vocalists and ensembles in both concert and recording settings.
This solo piano performance places Mason alone at the keyboard for an evening of original compositions, standards, and improvisation shaped by the energy and spontaneity of the jazz tradition.
This concert will be recorded for future broadcast on WLIW-FM
